Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
LinkAneed (linkaneed.org) is a free directory that helps people in Arkansas find local help. This policy explains what information the website collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language so it's easy to understand.
The short version
- You can use LinkAneed to find help without creating an account or signing up.
- If you are looking for help, we never ask for your name, email, phone number, or address.
- Organizations that add or update a listing give us a contact person's details, only so we can verify the listing.
- We count visits anonymously with Vercel Web Analytics: no cookies, nothing that identifies you, and we never store what you search for. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information.
Who runs LinkAneed
LinkAneed is a free community resource project for Arkansas. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@linkaneed.org.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server records when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the address of the page requested, and the time of the visit. These records are used to deliver the website and keep it secure. We do not use them to identify you.
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, without cookies. For each visit it records the page (never what you typed), the website you came from (only its name), your approximate location by country, state or city, and your type of device and browser. So it doesn’t count the same visit twice, Vercel uses a temporary code made from the connection and erases it after 24 hours: it does not identify you and does not follow you to other websites. Pages of domestic violence and human trafficking programs are counted only as a visit to their type of help, never by the program’s name. When you tap “Call” on a listing, we count it by type of help, never by organization.
What you search for, the ZIP code you type, and your location are never part of a page address, so they are not in those records (see “Searches, filters and location”).
The website’s fonts are stored on our own server. No font service or other outside company receives your visit.
If you use one of the forms for organizations, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a program, is sending it. To do that, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic browser information. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Information saved on your device
If you choose English or Spanish, the website saves that choice in a small cookie named “lang” so the page opens in your language next time. It contains only “en” or “es”, lasts one year, and is not used to track you. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies for this site.
If you switch to dark mode, the website saves that choice in your browser’s local storage as “la-theme” (only “light” or “dark”). It is not tracking: it only remembers how the page looks for you, stays on your device, and is never sent to us.
Searches, filters and location
When you search, filter a list, or sort places by ZIP code, what you typed is sent to our server only to find and sort the results. It travels inside the request, not in the page address, and it is not saved, logged, or shared.
If you tap “Use my location,” your browser asks for your permission first. Your phone or computer rounds your location to about 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) before sending it, and our server uses it only to sort places by distance. It is not saved, logged, or shared, and it is forgotten as soon as the results are sent back.
Links to other services
Some buttons take you to services run by others. "Get directions" opens Google Maps. Phone and email links open your phone or email app. Organization websites belong to those organizations.
The "Chat with someone" prayer button opens the JesusCares chat (https://www.jesuscares.com/chat), run by our partner ministry. That service has its own privacy policy and terms, and its chat is for people 14 and older. Anything you share there is handled by them, not by LinkAneed.
Information about organizations
Listings show the public contact information of organizations, such as their name, address, phone number, hours, and website. Some listings show the month the information was last checked. For safety, we do not publish the street addresses of domestic violence and human trafficking programs. Organizations can ask us to correct or remove their listing at any time with the "Update this listing" form or by writing to hello@linkaneed.org.
Forms for organizations
Organizations can use the “Add your organization” and “Update a listing” forms. These forms ask for public listing information (such as the organization’s name, address, phone, hours, website and social media pages) and for private contact details of the person filling out the form (name, role, email and, optionally, phone). We use the private contact details only to verify the organization and to contact that person about the listing. They are never published on LinkAneed, and we do not sell or share them.
To check that an organization is real and active, we may review the public website and social media pages it gives us, and we may use automated tools, including AI, to help with that review. A person makes every final decision.
Form submissions are sent by email through our email provider, Resend, to the LinkAneed team, and the person who sent the form receives a confirmation at the email they gave us. Resend and the team’s email inboxes keep these messages. We keep them only as long as we need them to manage the listing. To ask us to delete your contact details, write to hello@linkaneed.org.
Children's privacy
LinkAneed is not meant for children to submit information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to hello@linkaneed.org and we will delete it.
Security
We collect very little personal information, and only from organizations that use our forms. The website and its forms are delivered over a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
